Salone Milano 2010

Salone Satellite exhibition at the Salone del Mobile, 2010 With “Studio Hausen in Process,” Höltje and Brose created a small exhibition display demonstrating the process behind their latest pieces, accompanied by the two resulting prototypes. The Hydra chair — designed in collaboration with Germany’s most prominent research and development center, the Frauenhofer Institute — was made using an innovative technology called hydroforming. The Textile Molded Chair consists of a high-performance, ultra-durable textile formed into a hollow, tubular lounge chair whose veins are then inflated directly with Polyurethane Foam. This construction eliminates the need for a mold during the production process.
